Clean-Up Week next week
Clean-Up Week for the City of Baltic will be held May 4-8. Many items will be picked up at the curb side free of charge. However, certain items will carry a fee. Pick-up stickers must be purchased at City Hall for the following items: Computers, TVs, electronics, appliances and gas grills - $5 each Sofas and one room of carpeting - $4 each Recliners and mattresses - $3 each Tires, bikes and toilets - $2 each.
Baltic Prom on Saturday Prom at Baltic High School will be held on Saturday. This year’s theme is Midnight Masquerade, with decorations representing a masquerade ball set in the courtyard of a castle, said prom advisor Jen Nuncio. The banquet is set for 5:30-7 p.m. with pictures going from 6-7:30 p.m. The Grand March starts at 8 p.m. in the gym and the dance follows from 8:30 p.m. to midnight. The junior class will spend Friday decorating the gym.
Dell Rapids has new finance officer
LeAnn Kerzman agreed to be the new Dell Rapids city finance officer on Monday. She will begin her duties on May 4. Kerzman was the finance officer at Toronto before accepting the Dell Rapids position. She has 10 years experience working with the Brookings Municipal Utilities.
Local author at Tulip Festival
Dell Rapids author, Charles Holmes, will be featured at the 2009 Orange City Tulip Festival on May 14-16 This year’s festival showcases the Midwest’s outstanding authors for three days of book signings in the Author’s Corner.
